Following each Mass on Tuesday, August 15th, the Assumption of the Blessed    Virgin Mary, there will be a traditional blessing of herbs, flowers, and fruits.
 
This custom, which coincided with the times of the harvest, dates back to       Germanic countries in the earliest of centuries, and served as an opportunity   to give thanks and praise to the Lord for the bountiful harvest.
 
Please feel free to bring flowers and other items from your garden to be blessed after the Masses on the 15th.
